The Tales of Courmant are a planned series of stand-alone novels that are all set in the world of Courmant. They can be read in any order. They are connected with some character overlap, but each contains a completely resolved story of its own, and the spoilers are no more than you might find in the book covers. The "order" is mostly just publication order. There are no cliffhangers between books.
Good people do bad things, and bad people do good things, but good is always good.
Fourier is interested in exploring themes of true heroism in a real, broken world, and in using the vehicle of fairy tales and fantasy in order to explore real life challenges, especially relating to romance and relationships. Her heroes are not perfect, but they strive to incorporate real moral courage and perseverance despite all odds. Her villains are realistically villainous and her ordinary people are imperfect just like in the real world.
These books are written for "young adults." The age-appropriateness on Kindle has been set to 12+ for some and 15+ for others. They are not, in other words, intended for the young audience who might enjoy The Ouroboros Files. They are intended, primarily, for adults to enjoy.
